Scholarship News…

This newsletter contains current information received by the guidance office concerning college admissions, scholarship applications, standardized testing, and more.  Please read this newsletter carefully, share it with your parent/guardian and save it for future reference.  Please contact Mrs. Weeks for further information if needed.

  • Be sure to stop by Mrs. Weeks’ office to discuss life after high school graduation.  Be sure to discuss career choices, college admission requirements, applications, and scholarship opportunities.

  • It is recommended that you bring your completed applications to Mrs. Weeks for final review before submitting.  Please request official transcripts and letters of recommendation as early in advance as possible.

  • The 1st step in preparing for your future is to explore your career options.  Look for a career that revolves around activities that you enjoy.  Look for colleges, universities, or technical schools that prepare you for your career choice.  Visit as many of the campuses as you can.  Get prior approval from Mrs. Weeks or Mr. Dunn before you are absent from school for campus visits.  Also, upon return, bring with you some sort of verification of your visit.  Also note that your absence will be excused in that you will be allowed to do any make-up work, however, the absence will count against you in regard to 9-week exam exemptions.

  • Please give to Mrs. Weeks a copy of all scholarship offers as they will be noted at the Senior Awards Program in May.

  • All males are required by law to register with Selective Service upon turning 18. www.sss.gov

  • 18?  Register to vote with Mrs. Weeks, Coach Waters, or Coach Grimes.
