Alabama State University- “Connection Day” Jan. 22nd at the Joe L. Reed Acadome.  Students who apply for scholarships must be admitted by Jan.31st  and the deadline for scholarship applications is Feb.15th.   Call 1.800.253.5037 or www.alasu.edu.

Andrew College- Cuthbert, GA. www.andrewcollege.edu.  1.800.664.9250  Andrew College is a two-year college.  Campus Visitation Days are Jan.28 and April 29, Scholarship competition is Saturday March 19th for academic and fine arts scholarships.

University of Montevallo-  scholarships available for honor graduates with GPA 3.85 and ACT 23.

Enterprise-Ozark Community College-  Enterprise campus and Ozark Aviation campus.  Scholarships available.  Scholarship deadline is March 1st.  Applications are available in Mrs. Weeks’ office.

Troy University Dothan -  Numerous scholarships available.  March 1st is scholarship deadline.  Packet available in Mrs. Weeks’ office.

Troy University-  Troy, AL.  Foundation scholarships available.  Scholarship deadline is March 31st.  Admissions 670.3000.

Alabama Bankers Association Essay Scholarship- essay topic “How banking benefits my community”
(400 word max.)  $1000 scholarship.  Deadline Feb.21st.

DeVry University- scholarships available!  Numerous campuses to choose from!  www.devry.edu  or  1.800.295.8694.

Auburn University- Dept. of Music will hold auditions on Wed. Feb.9th for the John William Tamblyn endowed scholarship.  The dept. of music also offers other music scholarships to incoming freshmen.  They are performance based.  Main audition dates are Jan. 15th, Feb. 10th, and March 19th.  www.auburn.edu/music

 University of South Alabama- Scholarships available… one “reserved for an Elba High graduate.  USM “Get acquainted” days: Feb. 19th and April 16th. www.southalabama.edu  or  1.800.872.5247.

American Legion Scholarships-  available to those who are descendants of veterans.  Contact national headquarters for more information at 317.630.1200  or  www.legion.org. 

J. Craig and Page T. Smith Scholarship Foundation- “First in Family” scholarship.  It is open to AL seniors with a minimum “C” average, community and civic services, special consideration given to those who would be the first in their parents’ family to attend college.  Deadline March 1st. 

FFA SCHOLARSHIPS – Book available in Mrs. Weeks’ office.  Feb.15th deadline.

Auburn University Montgomery- “Super Saturday” Jan.22nd .  800.227.2649  or  www.aum.edu

NCO-EM Spouses Club (Non commissioned officers enlisted members) –Applicant must be a dependant of an enlisted sponsor, E1-E9 from any branch of the military service.  Enlisted sponsor may be active duty, retired, deceased while on active duty, or full-time active duty with the Reserves or National Guard.  Applicant must live within 30 miles of Ft. Rucker.  Deadline is March 10th.

Monsanto and National Association of Farm Broadcasters- one hundred $1500 scholarships are available for farm youth pursuing careers in agriculture.  Deadline is Feb.15th. Applications available in Mrs. Weeks’ office or visit www.monsanto.com  or  www.nafb.com.

Electric Cooperative Foundation Scholarship- applicant must a dependent child of a member of a participating Alabama electric cooperative.  Applications are available in Mrs. Weeks’ office.  Deadline March 18th.

Scholarships are available for cancer survivors and for those students whose parent was killed on the job or in the line of duty.  See Mrs. Weeks.

Journalism Scholarship- essay contest.  Feb.25th deadline.  See Mrs. Weeks for details.

Alabama Power Company Leadership Speech Contest- Deadline to enter is Jan.31st.  See Mrs. Weeks or Mrs. Norris for details.

U of AL-  Dept. of Art is offering two tuition scholarships to incoming freshmen who plan to major in studio art or art history.   205.348.5967  or  www.art.ua.edu Feb.1st is deadline to submit portfolio.

University of Southern Mississippi- offers Band and Dance Team scholarships.  The Southern MS dance team, “Dixie Darlings”, is offering a clinic on Jan.22nd to provide information and dance instruction for those who wish to audition on Mar.19th and/or April 16th.   601.266.4990  or e-mail usmband@usm.edu.

Jimmy Rane Foundation Scholarship-  awards college or vocational institution scholarships to students who, without financial assistance, would be unable to attend college.  Scholarships are need based and are renewable for four years.  See Mrs. Weeks.

AUBURN-  minority scholarships available through the Dept. of Building Science.  See Mrs. Weeks.

Johnson & Wales University- numerous opportunities and scholarships. www.jwu.edu

Sam Walton Community Scholarship Program- two $1000 scholarships awarded locally.  Call Wal-Mart in Enterprise at 347-5353 and ask for their four-digit store location number.  You will need this to complete the application process.  You may access the application at www.walmartfoundation.org .  Deadline is Feb. 1st.
