How can we keep our children from viewing adult oriented material?
If people allow their children access to the Internet, they are allowing them access to the world. Most adult oriented sites start
with a page that says the site is for adults only. To proceed to view the site, the viewer must say that he/she is over 18 (or 21)
years of age. Of course, some children will not be truthful, and choose to view the site anyway. This sort of thing happens with printed
material, too -- it is not unusual for a child to obtain a magazine from someone and then share it with his friends.... on the computer, however, there are more options. If you have a concern about someone using your equipment to access material that you don't feel is appropriate for them, you can obtain software that will automatically block access to all known sources of material deemed to be inappropriate. See the links below for this type of software.
